In two of my previous posts I discussed people and platform. In this post I’m going to share six steps to help your organization get started with platform as a service (PaaS). As with any new solution, it’s important to map out the implementation strategy. Whether your using Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), PaaS, or serverless, an enterprise architect along with your cloud center of excellence provides “recommended practices.” Agree or disagree, a decoupled component design provides flexibility with scale, maintainability, support and empowers faster change while remaining stable.

Almost every organization depends on cloud services to meet its technology needs in an agile and cost-effective manner. On-demand access to cloud-based, Platform and Infrastructure as a Service tools provides IT professionals with the ability to quickly provision resources and better meet business requirements.

At the same time, cybersecurity professionals know that this flexibility brings security management challenges. It’s difficult to implement security policies across these disparate systems, or even just keep tabs on evolving usage across many different cloud service providers.

CDW’s Cloud Check service is a complimentary offering that provides CDW customers with access to cloud security posture management (CSPM) solutions that help them inventory their cloud deployments and analyze them for security issues. I’d like to share three stories that illustrate the value that CDW Cloud Check can bring to organizations across industries.

Before this spring, many organizations were already set up to accommodate some portion of their employees working remotely. But very few businesses were equipped to handle all of their employees working from home. As a result, many employees saw performance problems and reduced functionality in the very applications they relied on to do their jobs.

It’s been said that we’re living through what is effectively the world’s largest business continuity exercise. Here are three lessons that business and IT leaders should take away from it.

The explosion of public cloud adoption in today’s business landscape is undeniable. But it’s alarming to see the number of organizations adopting cloud without a mature, clearly defined strategy on how cloud technologies are transforming various aspects of their business. It’s high time these companies take the plunge and explore the benefits of true transformation,…

The power of Platform as a Service lies in its ability to bolster profitability and productivity. Microsoft Azure’s PaaS and App Service offerings, in particular, give organizations a wealth of options that can help make enterprise IT more competitive. In an earlier blog, I explained the three P’s of PaaS: people, process and platform. In…
